Dave's away again this week. This time to my self-declared second home - Sweden. He was complaining that the summer there is too cold and wet (and mind you! It's Midsummer today!)... but that's why I like it up north. I love winters... even the Swedish ones!
So, yea, I'm back at my folks'! :) I feel really spoilt moving here; having my meals prepared, nutritious soup throughout the day, luandry washed, and having my parents babysit Luca while I attend yoga classes and get myself totally knocked out during savasana felt just awesome. Just that 10 minutes of deep relaxation... Not having to constantly listen out for baby's cries. Not having to rush home and stress over his next feed. Being able to totally let go and trust that he's well taken care of. That's my ME time. I used to have alot of that... but I can't ask for much these days.... just the 4 hours of yoga this week is enough fuel to keep me going for awhile!
On top of the sweaty yoga sessions, some retail therapy also did me a whole load of good! Carol and I decided to do lunch and some shopping together. Our first time with our babies. Without the daddy! Super challenging.
There was the usual lunch drama; Luca always needed to be nursed and cuddled immediately when my food arrives. And after a fitful feed, he'll continue to want to be held. Thank goodness there was Carol who helped to carry him while I gobbled down my lunch.
Each time we thought he could sleep and be placed back into the stoller, he'd whine and cry and I've got to carry again. This seems to be his most comfortable position lately... but rather awkward for me!
Ethan, on the other hand, was really quite an angel throughout lunch. What a darling! Carol managed to get some shopping done at Tangs, while I had to do many rounds of 1-arm-carry-Luca-and-the-other-push-the-stroller-along.
We then went over to Isetan Scotts for more shopping. The underpass from Tangs was not at all wheel-friendly; Carol had to help me with the stroller. SIGH... I don't suppose I could ever mall-hop with baby on my own. The baby carrier will do the trick but I will not be able to try on clothes. Anyways, this time there was Carol and we did get to Isetan. Checked out the pretty super nursery room. It was spacious with 2 breastfeeding rooms and quite a few change tables and also a mini sofa! Luca fed well then. I suspect he needed privacy!!! hah hah!
We continued shopping and Carol carried Luca while I went to the fitting room. Ended the day with coffee and some finger food at TCC. Even then, Luca needed to be held. Gosh. I'm convinced Luca is one homely chap cus I finally successfully placed him fuss-free into his stroller after we asked for the bill!!
Managed to get some stuff so all the hassle was worth it:)
