getting in Shape

Signed up for this year's Shape Run again. I figured I needed an event to get me back to running after pregnancy. And since I'm still doing exclusive breastfeeding, the 5km race was all I could manage right now. To be honest, I had thought I did pretty alright, but alas! The results showed otherwise!!!! Over 30minutes! 33minutes 26seconds to be really exact. Hiaz. I'll need to really train now if we're to sign up for the Standard Chartered Run in December. Here are some pics from that day!

As usual, I rewarded myself with big breakfast after the run... this time at Dome (since we're in their Circle of Friends)!! And my folks joined us!

teaching again

I went back to teaching yoga this month. It wasn't an easy decision; leaving Luca in someone else's care. But when you tell enough people you're going back to teaching in July... I suppose you just got to do it.

During the last days of June, I kept asking myself if it was worth troubling others just so I could teach 2 hours a week; an hour on Friday mornings and an hour on Tuesday evenings. For me to teach that 1 hour at RTC on Fridays, Dave needs to carpool and I have to leave Luca with my folks' maid and grandpa... yes.... just for THAT 1 hour. Oh! Not to mention, I'm also indirectly troubling Dave's colleague as well! And on Tuesdays evenings, Dave got to rush home so he could take over Luca (at a time when he's most cranky). It gets even harder to justify when I teach 1 hour and my transport to and fro is almost 2 hours. Big sigh.

It's been just over 2 weeks now, and this week was better than last. The first week was tough; I couldn't stop feeling stressed and guilty for leaving Luca, especially during the evening time when he needed me to cuddle him before bedtime. It didn't help that he cried (45 minutes!!!) to sleep during my first night away from him, and he was soooo tired from all the crying that we could not wake him up for his midnight feed. 11 hours without milk... scary! Poor daddy.... Dave was just as stressed! There was an improvement this week though! Luca cried for a much shorter period of time-25 minutes. I'm sure we'll all fare better next week!

It's great to have such a supportive family. I can actually look forward to classes now.

Milestone: Luca @4months

Weight: 7.2kg

Length: 63cm
Head Circumference: 42cm

Luca was administered the 6-in-1 jab again, Prevenar for Pneumococcol and the oral dose of Rotarix. Even before the injections, he was crying and screaming away; Dr. Rhonda said Luca's highly intuitive, like he knew needles were coming his way. Poor thing. Thank goodness breastfeeding always seem to be able to comfort him.
Good thing a swell did not develop from the Prevenar injection this time round.

Many claim Luca looks like Dave.

But everyone from my side of the family thinks otherwise...

Here's why...
