i drank

For my 33rd birthday, we went to The Lighthouse for an all italian brunch with free-flow of prosecco! I had 1 glass... 1 full glass!!!! (Oh nooooo!!! but I made sure no feeding for the next 3 hours!)

I remembered last year when we were watching the F1 race (we bought the Walkabout tickets, so we were basically walking about), we noticed people up here, enjoying the race with their drinks. So... this was it. What an excellent view!
Oh! Check out the chain!! Dave bought this for me from the Copenhagen airport. It's by this designer Malene Birger, and she's got really lovely stuff.

the day when the 2 turned 1

22 August 2009. 6 days before the actual day. My little nephews celebrated their first year today with a buffet lunch at Sheraton Towers. How fast they've grown!

Luca was really well-behaved. I suppose he too is growing up fast. He's hardly a sociable baby, especially in crowds, but today, my #4 aunty managed to carry him for quite awhile!
Here are some pics taken by my 11 year old niece Leng. Notice how I slowly 'disappear' from the photos!

High-5 to the birthday boys and thanks for the red eggs; I mashed it up with some thai chilli and served it with bread for dinner. Was actually pretty yum.
Dave's away, and he'll remember this day as the one where he missed his chance to win his dream car: the new Volkswagen Golf 1.4 TSI! During the last week, I had cut out all the keys for him from the newspapers, and all that was missing today was him, as he needed to be at the Raffles Place Park in person where the draw was held this afternoon. 

So, just to rub it in....

Milestone: Luca @5months

Luca is 5 months today!!! And he weighs 7.5kg.


These are his recent feats...
-- found his toes. I'm hoping he'll skip the part where he chucks them into his mouth!
-- is flipping so much that I can no longer leave him alone in his playgym cus he'll always flip and roll out of it
-- able to accept expressed milk from the bottle after 1 week of training! 
-- starting to enjoy sleeping on his side.... should I get him a mini bolster?
-- always drooling and blowing bubbles; he's wearing a bib with everything now! ;)

For the last week or so, he was having quite afew night wakings, and according to my baby bible, that's cus he's teething. Poor baby. I hope the incisors sprout out soon. 

Also, after so many months of his trademark hairstyle, his hair is finally falling over his forehead, but we're still delaying his first trip to the hairdresser. Cruel parents. kek kek.

for just afew hours... it's all for me!

I had a Girls-Day-Out last Saturday! Edrea and Florence wanted to celebrate my birthday early. Since Luca, this was my inaugural day out without my boys! Just for afew hours. I was excited:)


Shallow as it may sound, I insisted on paying The Ion a visit. Orchard Road, on a Saturday, I know it's crazy, but what the heck; it's the latest mall afterall, it's iconic, and I probably will not get the chance again, at least not in the near near future.

Before I reached Ion, I had a plan. I wanted to check out Uniqlo and Muji. So eventhough the whole mall was a maze and packed with shoppers, I was focused. Only after checking out the 2 stores did we comb the rest of the mall, from B4 to L4! No... I did not buy anything... but it was so delightful just being out and about with the girls.

We walked over to Cova for some coffee and cakes after.

Nothing special about this place... but at least we could find a quiet corner on a Saturday (and i bet that's cus the crowd's at Ion!).

there's always a first time

1st of August. 

Late afternoon-how did the day go by so fast? 
Dragged ourselves out of our power naps to bring Luca for a stroll at Lower Seletar Reservoir Park (We've gotta bring him out some where.... it was SATURDAY!!!). 
Other than the mozzies... it was a really nice walk (for me and Dave; Luca SLEPT!!!); saw a family enjoying some make-shift bbq, couples taking in the view and chit-chatting, and people at the jetty fishing. I wondered why we've not jogged in this park more often.
We woke Luca up to take in abit of the surroundings; he's gotta see this vastness outside the 4 walls at home.

While walking back home, we comtemplated whether to buy some dinner up, like we usually do since Luca arrived, or find a seat and have dinner like normal people do. I was quite reluctant to have Luca in coffeeshops and hawker centres, because they're just too crowded and noisy and the air was stale. But Dave said sooner or later we'll need to bring Luca to such places, and coffeeshops are really part and parcel of Singapore living. Oh well... Luca did not seem to mind it at all... so I suppose I need to be less uptight.

my baby's not such a baby anymore!

Did I use to rant about how difficult Luca was to bring out cus he needed to be carried all the time? He's grown so much from the last time I complained! Now over 4.5 months, he has been on a rather strict routine of play and nap times, so much so that even when we're out in the evenings, he gets sleepy between 7-8pm! 


Just the other night, we went to C & T's place for dinner and I could actually get him to bed!!! While all of us enjoyed some all-adult time of good food, wine and talk!
